Workshop on ‘Addressing Barriers to Scaling-Up Renewable Energy’ – Kolkata and Patna

Idam in partnership with the Indian Renewable Energy Federation (IREF) successfully organized one-day stakeholders’ workshop on Addressing Barriers to Scaling-Up Renewable Energy at Kolkata on 25 May 2018 and Patna on 01 June 2018. Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (SSEF) supported this initiative.

The workshops aimed in identifying challenges faced in implementing renewable energy technologies in the North Eastern and Eastern regions, gaps in the policies of the Union and State governments, challenges in scaling-up solar rooftop projects, and potential solutions to achieve the ambitious target of 175 GW.

The workshop witnessed participation from many quarters, including distribution utilities, service companies and project developers. It also highlighted the ‘Challenges in Renewable Energy and Energy Access Deployment’ and ‘Implementation Challenges, Financing Schemes and Innovative Business Models for Solar Rooftop Deployment’.
