One-Day Stakeholders’ Consultation Workshop on ‘Addressing Barriers to Scaling-Up Renewable Energy’ – Chennai and Ahmedabad

Idam in partnership with The Indian Renewable Energy Federation (IREF) successfully organised a one-day stakeholders’ consultation workshop on ‘Addressing Barriers to Scaling-Up Renewable Energy’ for the Southern regions on 08 June 2018 at Chennai in association with Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and for the western regions on 12 June 2018 at Ahmedabad. The initiative was supported by Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (SSEF).

The proposed workshops identified regional barriers and challenges for wind power project development as well as discussed business models to promote deployment of solar rooftop systems at the central and state level.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Ajit Pandit, Director & Chief Executive Officer, Idam Infra along with Mr. D. V. Giri, Secretary General, IWTMA and Dr. K. Balaraman DG, NIWE at Chennai and Mr. Anand Kumar, GERC Chairman and Mr. Shringarpure, Member GERC at Ahmedabad.

The workshop witnessed participation from many quarters, including distribution utilities, service companies and project developers. Consultants, developers, service companies, researchers, distribution utilities, industry associations, and others are invited to participate and share their views/opinions.
