MNRE-WB-SBI Workshop on Senior Management Consultation on Development of GRPV Program – Meghalaya

Idam, being one of the key implementation partner of EY led consortium providing technical assistance to 14 states under the MNRE-WB-SBI Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (GRPV) Technical Assistance (TA) Program, partnered with Meghalaya New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (MNREDA) to organize a Solar Rooftop Technical Assistance Workshop on “Senior Management Consultation on Development of GRPV Program” in Meghalaya on 15 May 2018, at the State Convention Centre, Shillong.

Mr. W. M. S. Pariat, Chairman, Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission and Mr. M. S. Rao, Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Government of Meghalaya co-chaired the event. Senior officials and representatives from various departments of state government, electrical inspectorate, distribution utility, educational institutes, etc., graced the event.

The dignitaries present, provided insights on state’s expectation from the TA Program and emphasized on the need for drafting policy and regulatory framework considering the state’s specific requirements. The workshop deliberated various measures for accelerating GRPV deployment in the state including new metering arrangements, utility driven business models, learning from case studies of other states, importance of online interconnection procedure and capacity building programs for utility engineers.”
