The first meeting of the Wind Discussion Forum convened by Shakti and Idam was held in New Delhi on August 22, 2014. In January 2014, renewable energy sources formed 12% of India´s total installed capacity of 235 GW. Of this, the share of wind capacity is the highest at 9%. Wind energy is moving ahead. The Forum will bring policy makers, wind industry, civil society and other stakeholders to evolve the much needed development and policy approaches for this sector.
